Resident named SJU mascot

Tim Higgins, a native of Merchantville and graduate of Camden Catholic High School has been selected to serve as the Saint Joseph’s University Hawk mascot for the 2010-11 academic year. He is the 33rd student to represent the University as its men’s basketball mascot in the 55-year tradition. Higgins, who is currently a senior, was chosen by a committee that included head basketball coach Phil Martelli. Higgins has served as a team manager for the past two seasons. He is a marketing major at SJU.
