Shared service agreement reached

Merchantville has penned a shared services agreement with Cherry Hill for discounted leaf disposal. Cherry Hill has agreed to take our leaves at a rate of $2 per cubic yard, half the cost of the 2009 Gloucester Township rate and a potential savings of $2,000. Merchantville will likely save an additional $2,500-3,000 a year in Public Works manpower and fuel costs using a facility that is 10 miles closer to the Borough. Merchantville collects approximately 800 cubic yards of leaves a season.
