New Water Commission building opens

The Merchantville-Pennsauken Water Commission moved into its new administrative offices at 6751 Westfield Ave. in Pennsauken last month and will hold its official public opening at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 5. The new environmentally friendly and energy efficient building is located next to the Pennsauken Community Recreation Complex. The MPWC is an independent utility governed by five appointed commissioners, two from the Borough of Merchantville and three from Pennsauken Township. Commissioner Patrick Brennan, former Mayor of Merchantville, was part of the team who worked with the architects and designers on the building.
