The Shade Tree Commission will hold two Arbor Day celebrations this year. The first one was on Friday, April 29th on the bike path in front of 66 West Chestnut Avenue sponsored by the Merchantville Pennsauken Water Commission. The second celebration is Friday, May 6th at 12:30 p.m. when the Shade Tree Commission will celebrate Arbor Day by planting a Red Maple in honor of Don La Jeunesse near the school library entrance. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. Merchantville was awarded status as a Tree City USA Community 33 years ago.
