The West Maple Neighborhood Task Force will be holding our monthly meeting at Merchantville Borough Hall on Thursday, September 8th at 1pm. Come out and find out what we’ve been working on. If you can’t make a meeting during the day, the Task Force will also be hosting a public workshop at the Pennsauken public library on Tuesday September 27th at 6:30pm. The workshop will present recommendations developed thus far and will seek public feedback.
As we will be wrapping up the first phase of study soon, the three communities applied for a TCDI grant to conduct a second phase of study. A second phase will allow the Task Force to pursue planning initiatives that were identified during the first phase of the study, as well as to examine additional aspects of the neighborhood that have not been fully analyzed yet. In the second phase, the Task Force also hopes to fortify the neighborhood organization, by encouraging more resident and political involvement in order to make the community organization self-sustaining in the future and to foster political will to carry out implementation measures.
