Towns, experts debate sharing services

Since there’s so much opposition to what remains a vague county consolidation idea … ironically announced in mid-January when Mayor Dana Redd’s administration laid off 235 Camden police officers and firefighters to force union contract concessions — I’ve solicited expert opinions on my “New City” proposal. New City would strengthen Camden’s tax base and cut millions of dollars in administrative costs, while improving the region’s economy and preserving the identity of its five boroughs: Camden, Cherry Hill, Collingswood, Pennsauken and Merchantville. http://bit.ly/ibSUra
