Rutgers to let men, women share room

Starting this fall, men and women can room together at Rutgers  in  Demarest Hall on College Avenue, New Gibbons Hall on the Douglass   Campus — both traditional dormitories — and Rockoff Hall in New   Brunswick, which offers single-bedroom apartments, usually  for three  people. It’s the first time the university is offering what it calls  the gender-neutral housing option. The  idea sprang from discussions with lesbian, gay, bisexual  and  transgender students, said Joan Carbone, the executive director  of  Residence Life at Rutgers in New Brunswick. http://bit.ly/faAhJ2
