Edison High School principal Marilyn Perez Martinez is the new superintendent of the 6,000-student Pennsauken, NJ school district. A graduate of Temple University, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in education and a Master’s degree in educational leadership. The New Jersey School Boards Association
were consultants with the Pennsauken BOE in their two-round, nationwide search. Martinez, who has a record of turning around scores and improving tough schools, plans to move from Philadelphia to South Jersey with her husband and two daughters, ages 4 and 9.
