Pete Burgess and Janet Stevens of Moorestown, owners of McFarlan’s Market are having a community grand opening celebration on Saturday and Sunday, June 12th and 13th, at the store. On Saturday there will be free hoagies to the first 100 people compliments of Dietz & Watson, Boars Head will have a hot dog cart with Boars Head hot dogs and DiBruno Brothers will be on hand offering product samples. On Sunday Dietz & Watson will be giving away 100 packs of hot dogs and offering some product tasting. They will have a face painting and balloon art on both Saturday and Sunday from 11 to 2. Olivia’s Corner Cafe will also be opening on Saturday.
The former Philly Fruit was renamed the store McFarlan’s Market in honor of William McFarlan, who owned McFarlan’s Meat Market at the site in the late 1800s. McFarlan’s Market features Boars Head meats, Bell & Evans chicken, DiBruno Brothers, Metropolitan Bakery products and and Green Mountain coffee.
