Former tax collector sentenced to house arrest

A former Merchantville tax collector is banned from holding public employment due to her theft of tax money from the municipality that employed her. Superior Court Judge Irvin Snyder sentenced Michelle McKinney, 36, of Brooklawn, following a guilty plea in March to Theft by Failure to Make Required Disposition of Property. McKinney must serve 364 days incarceration through house arrest, five years probation, restitution for $72,480 and forfeiture of her ability to hold public office in the future. http://bit.ly/miM2lb
