Vernon H. Collins, Sr., age 91, of Merchantville, passed away at the Virtua Hospital, Mt. Holly on December 18, 2011. Mr. Collins is survived by his loving wife Helen, his son Vernon, Jr. (Paulette), two grandsons and four great grandchildren. He was a World War II veteran, retired from Weyerhouse Company working over forty years for them. He was active in the Merchantville Shade Tree Commission and placed most of the memorial trees and plaques in town. He was also a long time member of the Merchantville Lions Club. Funeral services are private.
