Bishop to receive dialysis

Bishop Joseph Galante on Thursday disclosed he will begin undergoing dialysis as a result of chronic kidney disease.The 73-year-old cleric, who is to be treated six days a week for up to three hours at a time, said he expects to continue “an active work schedule” in his office and at local churches. “The bishop plans on completing his duties here in the diocese,” said Peter Feuerherd, a spokesman for Galante. “It is not expected that any new bishop will be appointed soon.” http://bit.ly/nWG5FS
