Bernice Richebourg nee Montgomery, October 8, 1926 – April 22, 2011. Married 41 years, Philip and Bernice Richebourg passed away 12 days apart. Mr. Richebourg, 91, of natural causes on April 10 and his wife, 84, of coronary arrest on April 22. Mr. Richebourg was a native of CA, and a graduate of Principia College in Elsa, IL. As a LT JG in the Navy, Mr. Richebourg served as a pilot and Flight Instructor during the war. Mrs. Richebourg was raised in Merchantville, NJ, and graduated with a degree in Education from New Jersey State College in Trenton. Mrs. Richebourg worked as an Administrative Aide at the Maryland Legislature and later for Anne Arundel County.
She helped develop one of the county’s first Cooperative Education programs at Severna Park High where she taught for 32 years. The couple was long-time residents of Annapolis. Mr. Richebourg was a highly respected real estate and insurance broker and served as an officer of many organizations including the Annapolis Symphony, and the Rotary. Mrs. Richebourg chaired committees for Chesapeake Appreciation Days, Annapolis Arts Council and the Symphony. They were long time members of the Annapolis Yacht Club. They are survived by Mr. Richebourg’s daughters Elizabeth Richebourg Rea of Washington, CT; Margaret W Richebourg and granddaughter Betsy Reid Willett of Stuart, FL; Mrs. Richebourg’s daughter Nancy W Merritt, husband Melvin R Merritt & grandson Isaac A Merritt; her son, Michael J Wagener, wife Deborah M Wagener and her son Sean McMullen, all of Anne Arundel County; and Mrs. Richebourg’s brother, John B Montgomery of Pennsauken, NJ.
