Today is a watershed day in junk food. Tastykake, a Philadelphia snacking landmark as iconic in that city as the Rocky statue and the Liberty Bell, is being sold. A lesson for you non-Mid Atlantic readers: Tastykakes are a Pennsylvania-region version of Hostess or Drake’s, with the familiar snack pack varieties of oozing sweet creams, coffee cakes, chocolate-covered anything and
other treats.
