Exploring the option of countywide police and fire

Last week, The Camden County Board of Freeholders announced that the establishment of a regional police and fire department was being presented as a shared services option for the county’s municipalities. The plan is to be discussed with the county’s mayors, police chiefs and fire chiefs in a meeting on Tuesday, February 1.  Senate President, Steve Sweeney says the state legislature is looking at legislation to strongly encourage more shared services initiatives across the state.
