A former Merchantville tax collector pleaded guilty Wednesday to stealing cash tax payments. Michelle McKinney, 36, of Brooklawn, began working in Merchantville’s tax office in 2004 and became tax collector in 2008. She appeared Wednesday before Superior Court Judge Irvin Snyder in Camden. After an audit revealed the missing money, McKinney admitted she kept at least six payments between February and November 2009. She must pay back $72,480. http://bit.ly/fxSmUI
