The Merchantville community has suffered the loss of two family members in recent days, Don Lajeunesse and Jonathan Page. Don lost his battle with cancer ended yesterday and our town lost a great friend and tireless volunteer. Don was an accomplished artist whose work won a National Endowment for the Arts in Crafts Award. he taught at the Art Institiute of Philadelphia and was also a master clay sculpture representative to the Ford Motor Company’s industrial design department. He created exhibit designs for Franklin
Institute and set designs for the City of Philadelphia, WHYY-TV and most memorably, the annual MES 8th Grade Haunted House. Please keep Patrice and the boys are in your thoughts. Jonathan, 32, son of Nancy and Bob, and his wife, Yu, were killed on the morning of 9/10 in a car collision in California. Jonathan, was a graduate of MES, swam for Woodbine Swim Club and attended Cornell University. Please keep Nancy, Bob, and children Carolyn and Chris in your thoughts.
