Camden County Amachi Project – Mentoring Children of Prisoners is looking for caring, responsible and committed adults to act as mentors to children of incarcerated parents. CCAP is a one-on-one mentoring program with a minimum commitment of four hours per month for one year. Background and motor vehicle checks are conducted prior to matching. From April to June, and September to November, the NJ Tree Foundation conducts volunteer tree plantings in Camden and Newark. Join city residents in planting trees to beautify their blocks. Most plantings are on Saturdays, begin at 8:00am and wrap up in 2-4 hours. Many city residents show their gratitude by supplying refreshments for volunteers.
