Merchantville considers public works consolidation

Faced with a drop in state aid and higher operating costs the Borough is considering a merger of their public works department with Cherry Hill. The plan calls for a study to see how it would work and what it could save. Council will apply for a $20,000 state grant to help fund the study. Since 1994 Merchantville has cooperated with Collingswood, Camden, Pennsauken, Oaklyn and Cherry Hill to minimize the tax burden and provide quality services.
