NJ Ed Commissioner Lucille Davy appeared before the LUARC Commission to explain the hurdles she overcame to merge 13 school districts that were consolidated under a law mandating elimination of nonoperating school districts. Another 13 districts are scheduled for mergers next year. Seven or eight pairs of municipalities are expected to be chosen by next month so that discussions can begin with local officials.
