Petition effort faces delays

For the time being the DCA has dismissed a petition by a group of Merchantville residents trying to facilitate a merger study with Cherry Hill based on the requirement that both communities must submit the same method of application to the local finance board. In other words both towns would need to submit a resolution from their governing body or a petition circulated by a representative committee of voters.
