The NJ TRANSIT Board of Directors has approved new fares to take effect May 1, 2010. The fare increase is needed to close a budget gap in Fiscal Year 2011 that is approaching $300 million. New River Line fares: Adult One-Way:$1.50, Reduced Fare for children, seniors and customers with disabilities: $0.70. Local bus fares: One-zone fare will change from $1.35 to $1.50 and a monthly bus pass will increase from $45.00 to $50.00.
