Plans for the Borough’s 2012 Holiday festivities are underway including the much anticipated evening parade. Public Events volunteers were busy Saturday trimming the borough tree, hanging seasonal street decor and readying the Santa House for he holidays. Enjoy the schedule of events

and experience the difference that shopping in your own home town offers. Merchantville boasts a variety of businesses from gift, handcraft and antique shops to markets, cafes, restaurants and florists. Supporting community businesses ensures a long and healthy future for your downtown. 

 

HOLIDAY EVENTS

Holiday Tree lighting and Downtown Shopping will take place at 6:45 p.m. on Friday, November 30th.

Merchantville Christmas Parade will be held Friday evening, November 30th. Parade participants will meet to line up at Wellwood Park by 6:30 p.m. for a start time of 7:00 p.m.

 

Grace Church Live Nativity will be presented on Friday, November 30th from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Please come and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Advent season, as we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Messiah. Refreshments will be served.

 

Aunt Charlotte’s Tours daily during business hours. Be sure to stop by and take a tour of the candy factory to see where all the magic happens. website

The St. Peter PTA’s Christmas Bazaar and Craft Fair will be held on Friday, 11/30 from 4:30-9 p.m. and Saturday, 12/1 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Shopping and food for all ages with our Secret Santa Workshop along with local vendors and crafters. Santa will be available for pictures: Friday from 6-7 and again on Sat 12-1. Pictures are only $5.00

Cherry Valley Model Railroad “Open House” weekends in the basement of the Grace Episcopal Church on Friday, 11/30 and 12/7 from 6-9 p.m. , Saturday, 12/8, 1/5 and 1/12 from 12-4 p.m., and Sunday, 12/9, 1/6 and 1/13 frpm 12-4 p.m. Free to public (donations accepted).

McFarlan’s Market Open House Saturday, 12/1. Sample Keith Meloni’s “Back Bay Crab Cakes” from 1:00-5:00 p.m. and meet Santa and Jingles the Balloon Twisting Elf from 1:00-3:00 p.m.

Saint Stephen’s Pancake Breakfast with Santa on Sunday, December 9 from 10:00-12:00 p.m. Enjoy great food and fun shopping for all ages! Adults $10, kids 12 and under $6.

The Wind Symphony of Southern New Jersey Concert at the First Presbyterian Church Sunday, December 9th at 4 p.m. Please join us for the concert and a chicken dinner afterwards in the church hall.

Cigar Alley’s Holiday Event featuring specials on cigars from the Miami Cigar Co. on Friday, December 14th from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Visit with Santa and enjoy breakfast treats at the Merchantville Community Center on Saturday, December 15th at 10:00-11:30 a.m. Please bring an item for the food pantry.

Merchantville School Winter Concert at 7:00 p.m. in the school auditorium on Wednesday, December 12th. Enjoy the sweet sounds of the holidays!
