The Merchantville Task Force is sponsoring a Spring Cleanup Day on Saturday, April 27th from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Interested residents and neighbors should grab their rakes, brooms and shovels and meet at the gazebo at Centre & Chestnut to help spruce up streets, sidewalks, parks and greenspace in the Borough. As in years past, there were hot dogs and drinks for all who volunteer. Picking up, sweeping, raking and planting in the Downtown, West End and Community Center
will help jump start our Spring beautification for the coming season of outdoor events!
After sprucing up the town an Arbor Day tree planting ceremony will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Residents and neighbors will meet on Chapel Avenue at the Merchantville School playground for the tree planting. The 2013 commemorative Arbor Day tree will honor Cherry Hill student, Stephanie Garcia, and her mother, Anada Medina, who lost their lives in a car accident this past January.
