“The Front Page” is a comedy set in 1920’s Chicago Criminal Court Building. Hildy Johnson, star reporter for Examiner, shows up to announce he is leaving the reporting business to marry and find a “respectable” job. Things go awry when Chicago’s latest convicted criminal escapes from the County Jail and shows up in the Criminal Court Building Press Room, with Hildy the only reporter around. Hildy comes to learn that the criminal is no criminal at all, but a man railroaded by the sheriff and mayor. The man needs to be moved to a safe place, away from the other reporters and the over zealous police.
